French alpine photographer and skier Mathis Dumas guides us through Alpe D’Huez, offering an immersive, on-the-ground perspective.
The stylised social-first series immerses viewers in the destination, with handheld shots and intimate POV perspectives. It features minimal narrative, relying on dynamic visuals and mixed media layering for a fast-paced, visually driven journey. Subtle signposting of key travel moments helps guide the journey through the destination.
Through a nostalgic, film-like aesthetic, we set out to capture the full skiing experience—both on and off the slopes.
The visual direction embraces a cinematic yet candid look, harnessing natural light and rich textures, punctuated by bold pops of colour. Playing with scale and composition, we balanced the raw beauty of vast, sweeping landscapes with intimate perspectives that highlight the warmth of human connection.
The series spans film and photography, living across YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest and Expedia Magazine.
